The Duffy Show. By Zaraa

Here is Zaraa reading a story she wrote about the Duffy Show.

Duffy Theatre

On Friday the Duffy theatre came to our school.  Duffy was showing us why it is so important to read and all the jobs reading will help us to get.  The show was really funny and we didn't stop laughing the whole way through.  After the show some of the children wanted to share what they loved best about it, take a look at the video to hear their thoughts.

Keen readers!

Bill is a new member of A3 and he is really keen to learn to read.  He was so excited that he couldn't wait until he got home to read his book, so he asked Alex to help him read it.  Alex was a great teacher, helping Bill to read the words he wasn't sure of.

Papatoetoe Schools' Art show

The schools in Papatoetoe are having an art show, all of the primary schools in the Papatoetoe area sent art to Papatoetoe North School for the exhibition.  Four children from our class had their art chosen to go to the exhibition, Jaida, Jerome, Yvon and Avnish.  They were able to go and see the exhibition, which was very exciting for them. Take a look at their Art on display:

Our squid inspired stories!

After we dissected the squid some of the children wanted to write stories about the experience.  Katie wrote about what it felt like to touch the squid and Solomon chose to use what he had learned to write an imaginative story.  Let us know what you think!

Jump Jam

Last Friday Yvon and Jaida went on the stage to be leaders for Jump Jam.  I think they did a great job and they were very brave to get up in front of so many people!  Well done Yvon and Jaida.

Kelly Tarltons

We had a great time at Kelly tarltons.  We saw sharks, octopuses, penguins and best of all - a real live puffer fish!  Here is a photo of Yvon and the puffer fish looking at each other:

We got to see a lady feeding the stingrays.  They came up very close to her and she gave them fish.  Take a look at this picture, if you look closely you can see the shadows of the stingrays:

We went on a snowcat to look at the penguins. We saw King Penguins(they are the ones with yellow chins) and Gentoo penguins.

We saw a diver in the penguin tank.
On board the snowcat
The penguins are being fed
We saw the tooth of a megaladon shark, it was HUGE.  It's mouth was bigger then most of us!
